Singapore Private Apartment Condo For Rent

Condominiums are basically mid to high rise buildings have all the luxuries of life .Covered parking, 24-hrs security, clubhouse facilities like gym, swimming pool squash court and tennis court e.t.c.Its stylish appearance and all the attractive facilities make it a favorite for the expatriates. Condos as an accommodation are from a cozy studio unit to a spacious penthouse.

Rentals for such kind of condos can range from S$3000 up to S$18,000 –50,000 for the more luxury ones. The newer condos cost more than the older ones which are much more spacious ones ,if you are the one who likes to enjoy their open space. They have bigger pools and bigger gardens and so on., then the older condos will suit your lifestyle.

It all depends what type of a condo are you looking for and in which area. All these factors depend upon you choices like:

• Your budget for rentals.
• Type and size you want
• Distance from work and means of transportation.
• Nearby schools, i.e if you have school going kids.
• Restaurants, shopping and entertainment in the area.
• How far are you from the Airport, depending on the nature of your job.

Singapore is relatively a small city but thickly populated. Normally the expats choose the central area or if with higher budgets, go for the main shopping areas like the Orchard road. Most entertainment areas are located in the center of the city.

Central Business District is also the favorite of the expats, and mostly popular areas are around the city centers. Central areas offer some of the most luxurious and expensive living in Singapore. Tanglin area and the road towards Holland Village at the end of Orchard Road is probably the most prestigious – and most embassies are located around here as well. Newton (north of Orchard) and River Valley (south of Orchard) are more popular among single professionals and young couples.

Many well-off Singaporeans also live in the area of Holland Village, which is popular hang-out place among expatriates living in the area and it has quite a few restaurants and bars, as well as some shopping amenities for daily needs.

The road from CBD towards Changi Airport, know as East Coast, has numerous Condominiums to choose from - some with a very nice panoramic view. The condominiums tend to be more expensive closer to the city centre (The biggest downside in the east coast is probably the distance to the MRT line. The Eastern MRT line does not go along the coastline, and you would have to take a bus to the MRT station, or just use a taxi, if you do not opt for own car.

The rental prices fluctuate heavily depending on the supply and demand of the available units. The rental prices for private properties have in many places doubled in the last two years, as also happened during the 90’s property boom. The final tip will be that normally the tenure of the private apartments is commonly freehold .99-years leasehold or 999-year leasehold. It will only be approved if you fulfill the lease criteria set by the government. The rentals of an average apartment range between S$2,000 to about S$55,500 per month, depending on the location and size.
